Nottingham Forest kept their good form going, dismantling Burnley 4-1 on Sunday. Morgan Gibbs-White scored a hattrick as Vitor Pereira’s team move onto 36 points.

Not out of the woods yet but making serious strides to be safe sooner rather than later.

Leeds United remain in 16th but secured another win to take them to 39 points. The Lilywhites [followed West Ham’s lead](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/10/west-ham-4-0-wolverhampton-wanderers-premier-league/) and took Wolverhampton Wanderers apart, beating them 3-0 on Saturday.

[Newcastle United](https://readnewcastle.com/) sit on 42 points, 11 above the drop but the Magpies did lose their third straight game. Pressure is building on Eddie Howe as his side lost 2-1 to AFC Bournemouth.

## The bottom two

Burnley were taken apart by Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon. The result means that should Scott Parker’s side lose to [Manchester City](https://readmancity.com/) on Wednesday night, they will be relegated from the Premier League.

The Clarets last won a league game in early February and have lost five games since.

Wolves were relegated after West Ham avoided defeat on Monday night. Rob Edwards team had already lost to Leeds United on Saturday, taking their fate out of their hands.
