# West Ham plot £22M bid for versatile Champions League star

West Ham United are mentioned as one of the sides said to be interested in signing Germany international Robin Gosens.

That is according [Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-leicester-can-entice-club-big-offer-player-future-remains-written/), who have relayed a report from Italian outlet [Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Calciomercato/Inter/06-11-2022/gosens-inter-germania-inzaghi-flick-450955368964.shtml), which claims that the Hammers remain interested in signing Gosens, despite signing a left-back in Emerson Palmieri in the summer.

Amidst his lack of game time at Inter Milan, the London Stadium is mentioned as a potential destination for the [£22million](https://sempreinter.com/2022/01/26/inter-atalanta-agree-e22m-add-ons-fee-for-robin-gosens-italian-broadcaster-reports/) asset.

## **Golden Gosens**

Having made his fair share of appearances in the Champions League with [23](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-gosens/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/273132/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=CL&pos=&trainer_id=), Gosens is a golden-coated asset that brings both experience and technical excellence from the left flank.

Primarily a [left-back](https://www.fotmob.com/players/518346/robin-gosens), he is capable as a progressive wing-back in a back-three/five system.

It was from an advanced wing-back position that saw him garner an incredible [11 goals](https://www.fotmob.com/players/518346/robin-gosens)and [six assists](https://www.fotmob.com/players/518346/robin-gosens) in 32 Serie A appearances for Atalanta, following on from another prosperous season that saw him grab [nine goals](https://www.fotmob.com/players/518346/robin-gosens) and [eight assists](https://www.fotmob.com/players/518346/robin-gosens) just the season prior.

The 28-year-old understands what it means to be a progressive defender and the Hammers should capitalise on his current circumstances in order to secure a longer-term upgrade on 32-year-old Aaron Cresswell.
