# Journalist calls for Moyes to involve Said Benrahma more regularly

**Journalist Paul Brown feels that David Moyes should be calling up in-form players like Said Benrahma to turn West Ham’s fortunes around.**

Benrahma has been [in and out](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532) of the Hammers side since the start of the campaign as Moyes works to find out his best attack.

The [17-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/nationalmannschaft/spieler/290532/verein_id/3614) Algeria international has [started](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532) three of the club’s first six league games but is yet to be involved in a goal with Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini and new signing Lucas Paqueta also challenging for minutes, while in Europe he has shown his value by registering a [goal and assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532) in qualifying.

Benrahma was the subject of interest [from Nottingham Forest](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/football-news/said-benrahma-nottingham-forest-transfer-7438975) this summer, with it reported that the Irons were [willing to listen to offers](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/18821597/west-ham-said-benrahma-jesse-lingard-moyes/).

Now, when speaking to [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88057855-west-ham-moyes-surprisingly-excluding-30m-star-at-london-stadium), Brown has said: “Benrahma did start the season like he was going to tear it up pretty quickly.

“So, it is a little surprising that he hasn’t played more because I think the manager should be relying on players who look like they’re in form and at the top of their game.”

Ever since his [£20m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54578415) move from Brentford back in 2020, Benrahma has been [rotated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/290532/plus/0?saison=&verein=379&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) heavily by Moyes but has shown glimpses of his best.

Nevertheless last season, the forward [ranked third](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/team/stats/_/id/371/league/ENG.1/season/2021) for goals as well as assists at the club in the Premier League being involved in 14 scores in total.

BBC broadcaster John Bennett once labelled the 27-year-old ‘[sensational](https://twitter.com/JohnBennettBBC/status/1311734465195126786)’ and by looking at the underlying numbers you could make a fine argument to suggest that Benraham should be handed a regular starting berth.

This season he sits second in the side for key passes per game with 1.5, first for successful dribbles, and third for shots (1.5) per 90 minutes ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/team/football/west-ham-united/37)), highlighting his cut and thrust style in the final third.
