# Virals: West Ham youngster on trial at London-based EFL club

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/30/pundit-heaps-praise-on-west-ham-starlet-mipo-odubeko/) youngster Mesaque Dju has reportedly been on trial at Championship playoff chasers QPR.

The 23-year-old forward [signed for the Hammers](https://talksport.com/football/485261/west-ham-confirm-signing-19-year-old-benfica-winger-mesaque-dju/) on a free transfer in 2019 from Benfica but has struggled to make an impact in east London.

Now it would appear that the [Portugal Under-20 international](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6649669/West-Ham-complete-signing-Portugal-youth-forward-Mesaque-Dju.html) could be on the move once again.

According to a report from [West London Sport](https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-charlton-athletic-trialists-290322), as cited by [Square•Prank•Genre’s](https://twitter.com/SPG_QPR/status/1508772416650104837) on Twitter, Dju is already plying his trade elsewhere.

The report claims that the [53-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mesaque-dju/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357159/verein_id/16373) youth ace recently netted a hat-trick in an outing for the QPR B team before featuring for the Under-23s against Charlton.

Prior to seeking action elsewhere, Dju – who was [described](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/february/18-february/hector-ingram-weve-been-training-hard-ahead-liverpool#RvJeEoSQoMMCJmir.99) as a ‘talented’ attacker by fellow Hammers prospect Hector Ingram – only made [three appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mesaque-dju/leistungsdaten/spieler/357159) for the Irons this season.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £810,000 and out of contract at the end of the season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mesaque-dju/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357159)), it seems inevitable that the Bissau-born ace will leave this summer.

Having failed to break into David Moyes’ plans, even in light of positional rival Jarrod Bowen’s recent [injury issues](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/21/jarrod-bowen-injury-west-ham-lyon), a move for Dju would appear best for all parties.

West Ham will certainly hope this doesn’t prove to be another one who got away.
