# Virals: Angelo Ogbonna drops huge return hint on social media

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/28/virals-west-ham-target-ola-aina-will-be-sold-during-summer-window/) defender [Angelo Ogbonna](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/04/virals-west-ham-defender-angelo-ogbonna-most-feasible-option-for-lazio/) has dropped a tantalising hint towards a possible return from injury.

The 33-year-old has been [sidelined since November](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12473330/angelo-ogbonna-west-ham-defender-undergoes-knee-surgery-after-damaging-acl#:~:text=Angelo%20Ogbonna%20has%20undergone%20surgery,prior%20to%20the%20international%20break.) following a serious ACL injury suffered against Liverpool at the London Stadium.

Irons’ boss David Moyes has [called upon Craig Dawson](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/craig-dawson/leistungsdaten/spieler/121477) and Issa Diop in the absence of the Italian but could be wet to welcome Ogbonna back for the run-in.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/OgbonnaOfficial/status/1508505211068899334), the former Juventus ace has delivered the biggest update yet five months into his absence.

Prior to suffering the knee injury, the [13-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/nationalmannschaft/spieler/48002/verein_id/3376) Italy centre-back had been a pivotal performer for Moyes’ side.

So far this season Ogbonna has made [11 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/leistungsdaten/spieler/48002) across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Whilst there will still be a long way to go in the Italian’s [rehabilitation](<https://www.physio-pedia.com/Anterior_Cruciate_Ligament_(ACL)_Rehabilitation>) process, seeing this progress is undoubtedly a positive for West Ham fans.

Losing such an experienced operator midway through the camping was a huge loss for Moyes’ charges and the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/players/713) has undoubtedly suffered as a result.

If Ogbonna can indeed return to play some part in the [run-in](https://www.whufc.com/fixture/list/713) then all the better, however, a fully fit start to next season will likely remain the priority.

Out of contract in June ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/marktwertverlauf/spieler/48002)), whether or not the £1.80million valued ace is still a Hammer next term is another matter altogether.
