# Virals: West Ham ‘set their sights’ on Serie A ace Nikola Milenkovic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/25/virals-west-ham-tracking-lille-defender-sven-botman/) have reportedly ‘set their sights’ on Fiorentina central defender [Nikola Milenkovic](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/01/virals-nikola-milenkovic-rejected-west-ham-transfer-move/).

A long-standing [target](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12384543/nikola-milenkovic-tottenham-west-ham-and-wolves-interest-in-serbia-defender-may-not-bear-fruit) for the Hammers, the 24-year-old appears to remain on the radar in east London.

Having [signed a new deal](https://www.acffiorentina.com/en/news/all/news-men-first-team/2021-08-19/milenkovic-signs-new-deal#:~:text=ACF%20Fiorentina%20is%20pleased%20to,young%20defenders%20in%20Serie%20A.) to remain in Florence, the Serbian’s long term future is once again in question.

According to a report from [Corriere Fiorentino](https://corrierefiorentino.it/firenze/), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1507329349414014985) on Twitter, another move could be forthcoming this summer.

The report claims that the [32-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-milenkovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/413507/verein_id/3438) Serbian could well be a target for many clubs across Europe with West Ham and Inter Milan named.

So far this season Milenkovic – [hailed](https://x-sport.news/fiorentina-lirola-on-milenkovic-extraordinary-quality-ready-for-a-great-team/) as ‘extraordinary’ by Pol Lirola – has earned an impressive [7.04 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/nikola-milenkovic/836168) from 25 Serie A appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Here we go again.

It seemed [so close](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1424708411875340296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1424708411875340296%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadwestham.com%2F2022%2F03%2F01%2Fvirals-nikola-milenkovic-rejected-west-ham-transfer-move%2F) to Milenkovic becoming an Iron in 2021 that this speculation almost seems inevitable.

However, at face value, there is a need for David Moyes to add a centre-back in the summer window and the powerful Serb [ticks plenty of boxes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/319785/Show/Nikola-Milenkovic).

Valued at £20.70million and approaching the final year of that new contract ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-milenkovic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/413507)), West Ham should be confident of striking a bargain deal.
