# Virals: West Ham ‘hoping’ for permanent bids for Arthur Masuaku

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/22/pundit-claims-epl-club-jumps-out-as-possible-destination-for-declan-rice/) are reportedly ‘hoping’ to receive bids for versatile wing-back [Arthur Masuaku](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/27/ian-wright-critical-of-poor-arthur-masuaku-display/) this summer.

The 28-year-old remains a lesser-seen figure under David Moyes despite being handed a [rare start](https://www.sofascore.com/player/arthur-masuaku/174975) against Tottenham.

Signed from Olympiacos in 2016 for £6million ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10527846/west-ham-sign-arthur-masuaku-from-olympiakos)), Masuaku has played 127 times for the Hammers.

According to a report from [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/hammers-ready-for-defender-offers/), as cited by [West Ham Central](https://twitter.com/WestHam_Central/status/1506211328763039750) on Twitter, the French-born ace could be on the move.

The report claims that West Ham ‘rate’ the [10-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-masuaku/nationalmannschaft/spieler/181380/verein_id/3854) DR Congo international at around £5million.

So far this season Masuaku – [described](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/september/27-september/aaron-cresswell-belief-massive-thing-football) as a ‘fantastic player’ by Aaron Cresswell – has [scored once and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-masuaku/leistungsdaten/spieler/181380) in 23 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £4.5million and under contract at the London Stadium until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-masuaku/marktwertverlauf/spieler/181380)), recouping anything close to the £5million mark would be good business.

Having been an [impressive servant](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-masuaku/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/181380) to the Irons down the last six years, it would appear that the time has come to part ways.

As Moyes goes into the [transfer market](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/) looking to strengthen this summer, wages and budget will need topping up and selling Masuaku will help on both fronts.
