# Opinion: David Moyes must get creative to solve striker issue

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/16/virals-west-ham-star-manuel-lanzini-feeding-possible-return-to-river-plate/) manager David Moyes may have to get creative in order to suitably resolve a striker crisis for the clash with Sevilla.

The Hammers are likely to be [without](https://www.whufc.com/news/team-news-moyes-antonio-cresswell-bowen)both Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio for the crucial Europa League second leg meeting at the London Stadium.

Whilst there is a possibility that the [talismanic](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1504421847827365891) 31-year-old Jamaican frontman could be involved, a role from the start seems unrealistic.

Instead, Moyes could turn to Andriy Yarmolenko to lead the line after the Ukrainian made a [goalscoring return](https://talksport.com/football/1062766/andriy-yarmolenko-goal-west-ham-emotional-war-ukraine/) against Aston Villa.

However, whilst the experienced ace brings a certain [level of quality](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/41672/Show/Andriy-Yarmolenko) to proceedings, fluidity and dynamism aren’t strong points.

For that Moyes may have to tweak the system somewhat…

**Predicted XI:** Alphonse Areola; Ben Johnson, Craig Dawson, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell; Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek; Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma, Manuel Lanizni; Nikola Vlasic.

**Predicted Subs:** Lukasz Fabianski, Michail Antonio, Arthur Masuaku, Daniel Chesters, Alex Kral, Mark Noble, Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop, Armstorng Okoflex.

Despite not yet being utilised as a centre-forward for the Irons, Vlasic has [scored three times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/293200/saison//verein/0/liga/0/wettbewerb//trainer_id/0/pos/14) as a striker for Hadjuk Split and CSKA Moscow previously.

Whilst his career in east London hasn’t quite sparked into life just yet, adding the [£24.3million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/293200) Croatian’s energy and skill to the ranks will add a new threat to Moyes’ side and this could well be the night it all comes together.
