# Manager dismisses new deal talks for West Ham target Joe Worrall

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has denied that new contract talks are in the offing for [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/14/noel-whelan-claims-west-ham-need-four-summer-transfers/) target [Joe Worrall](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/15/virals-west-ham-poised-to-win-the-race-to-sign-efl-star-joe-worrall/).

The 25-year-old has been [heavily linked](https://twitter.com/MailSport/status/1503108654228295690) with the Hammers recently and a summer move could be on the cards.

However, speaking to [Nottinghamshire Live](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/nottingham-forest-ryan-yates-contract-6801183), Cooper has admitted that there are no plans to offer Worrall a new deal.

> There are other boys on longer-term contracts as well, who are not up for discussion at the moment because they are only a year or so into them – Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna etc.

So far this season the man once [hailed](https://twitter.com/DavidJo05034174/status/1464358114589822989) as ‘outstanding’ by David Johnson has [scored once and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-worrall/leistungsdaten/spieler/415970) in 31 appearances across all competitions for Forest.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £3.6million and currently under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-worrall/marktwertverlauf/spieler/415970)), there is certainly no rush for the Championship side to act.

But, with the [interest](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10607845/West-Ham-Nottingham-Forest-defender-Joe-Worrall.html) from the Irons seemingly ever-increasing, it may be pertinent for Forest to improve Worrall’s terms.

Albeit the Midlands club is [pursuing a playoff spot](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) in the second-tier, as things stand, the lure of West Ham could be impossible to ignore.
