# Virals: Ligue 1 club ‘interested’ in West Ham loan ace Alex Kral

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/07/virals-west-ham-willing-to-offer-25million-for-armando-broja/) loan ace [Alex Kral](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/03/injury-expert-fears-for-alex-kral-following-fitness-update/) has reportedly attracted interest from French Ligue 1 club Montpellier ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers on a season-long loan deal from Spartak Moscow but has [struggled to make an impact](https://www.sofascore.com/player/alex-kral/825740) in London.

Despite having an [option to sign](https://www.patreon.com/thewesthamway/posts) the Czech Republic international permanently at the end of the season for £17million, that move seems unlikely at present.

According to a report from French publication [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a6515294582145791028-west-ham-alex-kral-dans-les-petits-papiers-de-montpellier), as cited by [Transfersgalaxy](https://twitter.com/transfersgalaxy) on Twitter, Montpellier could swoop for the defensive midfielder.

The report claims that the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/nationalmannschaft/spieler/337333/verein_id/3445) man’s career ‘should not drag on’ at West Ham beyond the end of this campaign.

So far this term, Kral has made just [six appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/leistungsdaten/spieler/337333) across all competitions – playing just one minute in the Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing the [£7.2million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/marktwertverlauf/spieler/337333) midfielder for the original mooted price had seemed like a no-brainer, to begin with.

However, fast forward to now and with just [136 minutes of football](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/leistungsdaten/spieler/337333) for David Moyes’ side, there is seemingly no chance that the Irons sanction the permanent move.

Whilst [midfield reinforcement](https://www.whufc.com/players/713) must remain high on the list of priorities at the London Stadium, Kral would appear to be far from the answer and a switch to France could be a better option.
