# Virals: West Ham interested in VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/03/03/virals-west-ham-want-bristol-city-striker-antoine-semenyo/) are reportedly interested in VfB Stuttgart striker [Sasa Kalajdzic](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/07/report-west-ham-line-up-15-million-move-for-sasa-kalajdzic/) ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Hammers have been [linked](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-interested-towering-striker-not-waned-price-quite-bit-less-e20m/) with the 24-year-old alongside Tottenham, AS Roma, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Irons’ boss David Moyes was expected to strengthen the [attacking department in January](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) but failed to do so. Leaving room for at least one centre-forward in the London Stadium squad.

According to [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/die-zeichen-bei-kalajdzic-stehen-auf-abschied-892475/artikel), as cited by [Get German Football News](https://twitter.com/GGFN_/status/1499328553233666050) on Twitter, Kalajdzic is amongst the leading contenders.

The report claims that the [11-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/369567/verein_id/3383) Austria ace ‘will most likely’ leave Stuttgart at the end of this season.

So far this term the man hailed as [‘the next Mario Gomez’](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/sasa-kalajdzic-interview-on-peter-crouch-comparison-vfb-stuttgart-striker-13397) has [scored once and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/leistungsdaten/spieler/369567) in six appearances having missed 19 games through injury and fitness issues.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Dismissing this season as an isolated incident, Kalajdzic actually has an [impressive](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369567) track record.

Unsurprisingly an aerial threat, the 6’6 Austrian is also a [well-rounded centre-forward](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/377271/Show/Sasa-Kalajdzic) with outstanding technical ability.

Valued at £19.8million and under contract in Germany until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/369567)), signing the powerful ace for the mooted €20million (£16.5million) would be a worthwhile move.
