# Virals: West Ham ‘bewitched’ by OGC Nice star Amine Gouri

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/23/pundit-slams-very-poor-west-ham-trio-for-recent-performances/) are reportedly ‘bewitched’ by OGC Nice star Amine Gouri ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Hammers are believed to have placed the Frenchman on their shortlist as [mega-rich Newcastle United](https://talksport.com/football/694908/newcastle-takeover-mohammad-bin-salman-amanda-staveley-mike-ashley-money/) also show an interest.

European giants Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are also both keen on signing the [red-hot](https://www.sofascore.com/player/amine-gouiri/859026) 22-year-old.

That’s according to a report from *[Calciomercato](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/fwd/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuY2FsY2lvbWVyY2F0by5pdC8yMDIyLzAyLzIzL2NhbGNpb21lcmNhdG8tbWlsYW4tZ291aXJpLWVraXRpa2UtYXR0YWNjYW50ZS1saWd1ZS0xLWZyYW5jaWEv/?fwd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.calciomercato.it%2F2022%2F02%2F23%2Fcalciomercato-milan-gouiri-ekitike-attaccante-ligue-1-francia%2F&sport=1&spName=Football&spArticle=x_West_Ham%2C_Newcastle%20among%20)*, as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1496534009580560385) on Twitter.

The report claims that the Irons will face ‘fierce competition’ for the [16-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amine-gouiri/nationalmannschaft/spieler/418659/verein_id/9323) France Under 21 star.

This season Gouri – who has been dubbed the [‘new Bezema’](https://en.as.com/en/2021/02/08/soccer/1612785808_201446.html) previously – has [scored 11 times and provided seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amine-gouiri/leistungsdaten/spieler/418659) in 28 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £40.5million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amine-gouiri/marktwertverlauf/spieler/418659)), signing the talented Frenchman would be a hugely expensive venture.

However, at just 22 and with a [wide range](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/348654/Show/Amine-Gouiri) of attacking attributes, Gouri would be a superb addition to the London Stadium squad for the long term.

Capable of playing on either wing but [predominantly](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amine-gouiri/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/418659) a centre-forward, David Moyes would have options with the starlet prior to perhaps taking over from Michail Antonio as the main frontman.
