# Pundit believes West Ham must go all out to keep ‘superb’ Jarrod Bowen

Former Scotland manager Alex McLeish has insisted that [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/17/virals-west-ham-linked-with-red-bull-salzburg-ace-rasmus-kristensen/) must go all out to tie [Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/16/virals-west-ham-planning-contract-talks-with-sensational-jarrod-bowen/) down to a new deal.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation ever since arriving at the London Stadium in a £20million deal from Hull City in 2020 ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51323082)).

That form has earned admiration from Liverpool and in turn, has led to the Hammers [reportedly](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-jarrod-bowen-contract-talks-liverpool-interest-b982618.html) preparing fresh talks over a contract extension.

Speaking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/jarrod-bowen-west-ham-need-to-pull-out-all-the-stops-after-contract-talks-update-former-manager/), McLeish suggested that the East London club should do whatever it takes to appease the English forward.

> West Ham need to pull out all the stops. But I think Bowen’s happy at that club. He is a superb footballer, I love watching him. When he was at Hull City, the lovely left peg, they call it the wand. A magic, left foot wand. Bowen has given us many moments. From dribbling past people, good movement and obviously his tremendous finishing and goal-scoring prowess. That’s massive in a forward. He’s a valuable asset. For me, losing somebody like him would be losing a big chunk of their team.

Bowen has earned an impressive [7.16 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jarrod-bowen/552884) from 25 Premier League outings this season.

With [12 goals and 11 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in 25 appearances across all competitions – it’s clear to see why there would be interest in the ace’s services.

Couldn’t agree more.

Interest was nigh on inevitable should Bowen [continue](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jarrod-bowen/552884) his early-season form, which he has done and then some.

Now it’s over to the club to reward the [£31.5m valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314875) man accordingly as likely UEFA Champions League clubs circle.

Alongside [new deals](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-opening-new-contract-talks-with-tomas-soucek/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1644577022) for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, this should be a top priority for the board over the coming months.
