# Virals: West Ham ‘interested’ in Torino defender Ola Aina

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/15/virals-west-ham-likely-to-move-for-efl-star-tosin-adarabioyo/) are reportedly among the clubs ‘interested’ in Torino defender Ola Aina.

The 25-year-old is a [product of the Chelsea academy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/transfers/spieler/236490) and has since enjoyed spells at Fulham and Hull City before arriving in Italy.

Now the [versatile](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/236490) ex-England youth international is being linked with another move as the Hammers, Crystal Palace and Lille show an interest.

That’s according to a report from [AllNigeriaSoccer](https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=42578), as cited on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Editor_ANS/status/1493587694085095425), claiming that the European trio are keen on Aina.

The report states that the Serie A club are ‘willing to listen to offers’ for the [21-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/nationalmannschaft/spieler/236490/verein_id/3444) senior Nigeria international who was also pursued by Leeds United previously.

This season Aina – described as [‘quality’](https://www.owngoalnigeria.com/2021/08/04/torino-coach-praise-super-eagles-defender-ola-aina-he-has-quality-crossing-and-dribbling/) by Ivan Juric – has made [18 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/leistungsdaten/spieler/236490) across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £4.95million and heading towards the final 12 months of a contract ([Transfemarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/marktwertverlauf/spieler/236490)), signing the London-born ace in the summer would be an affordable option.

Capable of playing across the entire defence and in more [advanced](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/315543/Show/Ola-Aina) wing roles, Aina would be a superb addition to David Moyes’ squad – particularly having made [31 Premier League outings](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ola-aina/800417) in 2020/21.

Albeit perhaps not a player of the elite level the Irons’ should be pursuing, the Nigerian’s ability to [supplement numerous positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ola-aina/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/236490) is of benefit to almost any squad in world football.
