# Opinion: Jarrod Bowen comfortably stole the show for West Ham in EPL draw

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/13/opinion-david-moyes-should-keep-faith-in-misfiring-pablo-fornals/) left it late against Leicester City to steal a point in the race for the Premier League top four.

Albit most sides in the [pursuit](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) are stuttering their way towards the European elite, this was undoubtedly an opportunity missed for the Hammers.

However, despite taking an early lead through a sublime [Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/13/pundit-waxes-lyrical-over-mind-blowing-west-ham-ace-jarrod-bowen/) goal, David Moyes’ side failed to capitalise on their advantage and were second best for the most part.

Bowen was by far and away the pick of the bunch on an [all too familiar off-day](https://www.skysports.com/west-ham-united-results) for the Irons in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old early a [7.90 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jarrod-bowen/552884) for a display containing a goal and an assist as well as 15 accurate passes, one tackle and 40 touches.

Micah Richards even described the forward as [‘impeccable’](https://www.skysports.com/micah-richards) in the aftermath of the opening goal.

Here’s how we rated the others…

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

XI: Lukasz Fabianski 6; Vladimir Coufal 5, Craig Dawson 6, Issa Diop 6, Aaron Cresswell 4; Declan Rice 6, Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen **8**, Pablo Fornals 5, Manuel Lanzini 6; Michail Antonio 5.

Subs: Ryan Fredericks 6, Nikola Vlasic 5, Said Benrahma 6.

Despite showing [superb early season form](https://theathletic.com/2942444/2021/11/08/pablo-fornals-work-with-and-without-the-ball-for-west-ham-gives-liverpool-a-taste-of-their-own-medicine/) this was another poor display from Fornals in particular as the Spaniard remained a peripheral figure for the majority of the match.

In truth, a few players could be looking over their shoulders and Moyes may have a number of big decisions to make ahead of [hosting Newcastle United](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) next weekend.
