# Pundit waxes lyrical over ‘mind-blowing’ West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen

Former Premier League defender Micah Richards has been waxing lyrical over [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/13/opinion-david-moyes-should-keep-faith-in-misfiring-pablo-fornals/) forward [Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/08/pundit-suggests-jarrod-bowen-creates-a-problem-for-west-ham-as-a-striker/).

The 25-year-old [handed the Hammers the lead](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/02/13/leicester-vs-west-ham-live-score-premier-league-latest/) early on against Leicester City before the home side struck back before half-time.

Central defender Craig Dawson [scored late](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36008563) in the day for the Irons to earn an invaluable point in the race for the top four.

But it was Bowen who stole the headlines as the [ex-Hull City forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/transfers/spieler/314875)beat the offside trap to get behind the entire defence before volleying home emphatically to put David Moyes’ side ahead.

Speaking on [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/) during the break, Richards was full of praise for the goal and the form of Bowen this season.

> Look at his position, the timing of the run is impeccable. Whether he plays on the left or plays on the right, his form this season is mind-blowing. When he goes through he’s still got a lot to do, but it’s his composure.

Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher responded by likening the Englishman to [former Liverpool star](https://www.premierleague.com/players/277/Robbie-Fowler/overview) Robbie Fowler.

So far this season Bowen has [13 goals and 10 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in 34 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Outstanding once again.

Whilst the goal was only worth a point to the Hammers in the end, it shouldn’t take away from the quality of the finish.

Performances such as this are the reason why the [£31.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314875) ace is one of the most talked-about players in the Premier League this season.

Surely an England call is just a matter of time?
