The report claims that the club wants to offer the [46-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/nationalmannschaft/spieler/283628/verein_id/3445) ace a ‘new and improved contract’ in order to ‘fend off’ interest from Premier League rivals.

So far this season Soucek – hailed as [‘incredible’](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/news/declan-rice-chelsea-west-ham-22360169) by Thomas Tuchel – has [scored three times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdaten/spieler/283628) in 31 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £40.5million and under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/marktwertverlauf/spieler/283628)), there is no apparent immediate need for new terms.

However, given the Czech star’s [importance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/283628) to David Moyes’ side and indeed the levels of interest, this is a smart move from the club to protect a prized asset.

Instrumental to the Hammers [alongside Declan Rice](https://talksport.com/football/846100/west-ham-declan-rice-tomas-soucek-worth-lorry-limbs/), Soucek has been sensational for West Ham and long may it continue.
