# Tony Cottee praises West Ham saviour Jarrod Bowen

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/09/pundit-blasts-shocking-david-moyes-decision-in-west-ham-victory/) favourite Tony Cottee has been praising current star [Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/08/pundit-suggests-jarrod-bowen-creates-a-problem-for-west-ham-as-a-striker/) following the 1-0 victory over Watford.

The Hammers were far from their free-flowing best in East London but it was the 25-year-old who netted the all-important goal to send the Hammers back into the [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) top four.

This came after the Englishman left it late to rescue David Moyes’ side from the ignominy of being [taken to penalties](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2022/february/06-february/highlights-kidderminster-harriers-1-2-west-ham-united) by National League North side Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup on the weekend.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/TonyCottee9/status/1491158611292491777) following the full-time whistle, Cottee was quick to hail the Irons’ saviours.

> That man again Jarrod Bowen 🔥 Not sure where our goals would of come from without him recently 👏🏼

Bowen earned an impressive [8.40 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jarrod-bowen/552884) for a performance containing one goal, 61 touches, two shots on target and two big chances created.

This season the former Hull City man has now [scored 11 times and provided 10 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in 34 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It’s true, Michail Antonio is now [without a goal in four league games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michail-antonio/leistungsdaten/spieler/104124) as Bowen has struck four times in the same period.

Last night’s victory was all the more crucial as [Manchester United dropped points](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2022/feb/08/burnley-v-manchester-united-premier-league-live-score-updates) at Burnley with the race for the top-four well and truly on.

Should manager David Moyes get both Antonio and his [£31.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314875) winger firing on all cylinders simultaneously, then the Irons are in with one hell of a chance.
