# Virals: West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna ‘most feasible’ option for Lazio

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/04/pundit-claims-west-ham-target-will-choose-move-to-proper-top-four-club/) defender [Angelo Ogbonna](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/07/virals-west-ham-confirm-double-injury-blow-to-defensive-stars/) is reportedly the ‘most feasible’ transfer option for Lazio in the summer.

The 33-year-old is [expected to miss the remainder of the season](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1458008428559884291) having sustained a cruciate ligament injury in November.

Despite currently being sidelined, the experienced Italian ace has been linked with a move to the [Serie A](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table) club.

According to a report from [Citta Celeste](https://www.cittaceleste.it/calciomercato/lazio/occasioni-parametro-zero-per-rinforzare-difesa/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/signing-west-ham-player-feasible-transfer-club-move-already-presented/)), the Irons’ stalwart has is an option for Maurizio Sarri.

It’s claimed that the [13-cap Italy international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/nationalmannschaft/spieler/48002/verein_id/3376) is the likely candidate to bolster the defensive ranks at The Stadio Olimpico.

Prior to Ogbonna’s injury, the powerful ace had [scored once in 11 Premier League outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/leistungsdaten/spieler/48002) for David Moyes’ side.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at just £1.8million and out of contract at the end of the season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/marktwertverlauf/spieler/48002)), the long-term injury may well have put pay to the likelihood of a new deal.

Whilst [performances were undoubtedly at a high level](https://www.sofascore.com/player/angelo-ogbonna/21164) prior to the costly blow and Moyes has missed the Italian, offering a 33-year-old a new deal on the back of such a serious layoff would be a bold move.

Should it indeed be the case that the [443 career appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/48002) star has played his final game as an Iron, it would be a huge shame to end in these circumstances.
