# Agent says West Ham move for Sparta Prague ace David Hancko is ‘obvious’

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/02/02/west-ham-icon-left-bitterly-disappointed-by-transfer-window/) could be handed a golden opportunity to sign Sparta Prague defender David Hancko in the summer.

The 24-year-old ace has previously been [linked with a move](https://www.patreon.com/posts/twhw-podcast-new-61580221?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2Vzczo4ZThhN2IxMC1jZDc0LTQwYzktODA2Yi04NDk5YjhmZTYzNzQifQ.kb-uVmAU9AdtYR3dfOIizdXeKv1YXgJ3cRuEwN_ADcw&__cf_chl_captcha_tk__=o6BwPxer8Vu4B.BzAhMXXGSEQ4OBw0yRb5mFXKFzNsE-1643040236-0-gaNycGzNDBE) to the Hammers prior to arriving in the Czech Republic from Fiorentina.

Since leaving the Serie A club, Hancko has continued to impress and [played an integral part](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-hancko/erfolge/spieler/404418) as Sparta lifted the 2020/21 Czech Cup.

Now, agent Michael Holescak has told [SportNet](https://sportnet.sme.sk/spravy/futbal-michal-holescak-futbalove-prestupy-praca-rozhovor/) that it would come as no surprise should the Slovakian become an Iron at the end of the season.

> The connection between Sparta and West Ham is obvious. So something like that wouldn’t be a big surprise. Anyway, Hancko is currently ready for any of the top five European leagues.

Previously touted as a possible target for the Hammers, the Twitter account [WHU\_ScoutingOptions](https://twitter.com/scoutingoptions) took a closer look at the [19-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-hancko/nationalmannschaft/spieler/404418/verein_id/3503) ace.

> If [@WestHam](https://twitter.com/WestHam?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) are still looking at the the czech league then @David\_Hancko might be one to check out, he's a 23yro progressive ball playing CB, that can also play on the left of defence. Hes got good passing range, can carry the ball and strong in the tackle. Plus hes quite pacey. [pic.twitter.com/VjuDZT4Byp](https://t.co/VjuDZT4Byp)

This season Hancko has [scored six times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-hancko/leistungsdaten/spieler/404418) in 27 appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £3.6million and under contract in Prague until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-hancko/marktwertverlauf/spieler/404418)), signing the Slovakian ace would likely be an affordable venture for the club.

Having endured a [quiet January](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) window, the club needs a statement summer and starting with Hancko would be a positive move.

Clearly a player with ability and an apparent eye for an [attacking impact](https://www.sofascore.com/player/david-hancko/807771) also, David Moyes would be wise to heed the words of the agent in this instance.
