# Virals: West Ham discover asking price for Clermont Foot ace Mohamed Bayo

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/27/virals-west-ham-interested-in-nottingham-forest-defender-joe-worrall/) have reportedly discovered the asking price required to sign Clermont Foot striker [Mohamed Bayo](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/02/virals-west-ham-failed-to-reach-asking-price-for-mohamed-bayo/).

The 23-year-old has [previously been linked](https://twitter.com/central_louis/status/1433161610768572428?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1433161610768572428%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadwestham.com%2F2021%2F09%2F02%2Fvirals-west-ham-failed-to-reach-asking-price-for-mohamed-bayo%2F) with a move to the Hammers and it would appear that a late swoop hasn’t been ruled out during the January window.

Eliminated from the [Africa Cup of Nations](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/naby-keitas-guinea-exit-last-16-stage) last week, negotiating a deal for Bayo has been made easier as the deadline fast approaches.

According to a report from French outlet [Le 10 Sport,](https://twitter.com/AlexisBernard10/status/1486294936718876672) as cited by journalist [Alexis BERNARD](https://twitter.com/AlexisBernard10/status/1486294936718876672) on Twitter, the Irons now know the fee required to land the frontman.

The report claims that having already made a €15million (£13 million) offer for the [five-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/nationalmannschaft/spieler/594991/verein_id/3856) ace, the east London club will need to up their bid to €20 million (£17 million) in order to make the deal happen.

This season Bayo has [scored nine times and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/leistungsdaten/spieler/594991) in 17 Ligue 1 outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £9million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/marktwertverlauf/spieler/594991)), the mooted fee for the Guinean represents good value for money.

Following a sensational [30 goal contribution](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/594991/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/FR2/verein/3524) campaign in 2020/21 as Clermont earned promotion, Bayo would appear to have made a positive step up to the elite level.

Heralded for [strong finishing and heading ability](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/422190/Show/Mohamed-Bayo), David Moyes would no doubt relish the opportunity to work with the striker as a much-needed backup to Michail Antonio.
