# Virals: West Ham ‘make new offer’ for Stade Reims striker Hugo Ekitike

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/26/virals-west-ham-have-enquired-over-marseille-striker-bamba-dieng/) have reportedly made a ‘new offer’ for Stade Reims striker [Hugo Ekitike](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/11/virals-west-ham-have-offered-13m-for-stade-reims-striker-hugo-ekitike/).

The Hammers have been [linked with the 19-year-old](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/exclu-mercato-west-ham-degaine-une-offre-de-15-meur-pour-un-attaquant-de-ligue-1-583105) recently and are expected to ramp up their pursuit of a frontman in the final days of the transfer window.

Also wanted by [mega-rich](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10427455/Mike-Ashley-sues-Amanda-Staveley-demanding-return-10million-Newcastle-United-takeover-loan.html) Newcastle United, the Irons may need to act fast in order to land the highly-rated Frenchman.

According to a report from [Le10Sport](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/exclu-mercato-west-ham-rehausse-une-offre-a-25-meur-585267), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_) on Twitter, the East London club have made a bid.

> West Ham have made a new bid worth €25m for 19 year old FC Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.
>
> However, this is most likely not going to be enough to convince the Ligue 1 side to sell. They have already rejected a bid worth €35m from Newcastle.

The report claims that West Ham have ‘returned’ to the Ligue 1 club with an offer of €25million (£20.8million) for the [twice-capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hugo-ekitike/nationalmannschaft/spieler/709726/verein_id/9323) France Under 20 ace.

This season Ekitike has [scored eight times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hugo-ekitike/leistungsdaten/spieler/709726) in 20 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at just £5.4million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hugo-ekitike/marktwertverlauf/spieler/709726)), it would appear Stade Reims are fully aware of the Premier League riches when setting their asking price.

Powerfully built and possessing a range of [strong attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/403784/Show/Hugo-Ekitike) that would endear Moyes to the Frenchman, it’s clear to see why the teen is hot property.

With time running out and targets seemingly [falling](https://football-italia.net/fiorentina-find-vlahovic-replacement-in-arthur-cabral/) by the wayside, Ekitike could now be the number one choice to arrive at the London Stadium.
