# Virals: West Ham ‘pushing’ for Sheffield Wednesday ace Bailey Cadamarteri

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/21/virals-west-ham-interested-in-signing-burnley-ace-james-tarkowski/) are reportedly ‘pushing’ for the signing of Sheffield Wednesday youngster [Bailey Cadamarteri](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/12/virals-west-ham-keeping-tabs-on-sheffield-wednesday-starlet-bailey-cadamarteri/).

The Hammers have been [linked with a move](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/bailey-cadamarteri-latest-as-sheffield-wednesday-risk-losing-starlet-west-ham-united-and-brentford-watch-3522948) for the 16-year-old recently and it’s believed the East London club could be stepping up their interest.

Already an [FA Youth Cup goalscorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bailey-cadamarteri/leistungsdaten/spieler/871170), Cadamarteri comes from good stock with his father, Danny, a former Premier League striker at Everton.

According to a report from the [Star](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/west-ham-united-make-push-for-sheffield-wednesday-youngster-as-scouts-watch-on-3534852), as cited by [Joe Crann](https://twitter.com/YesWeCrann) on Twitter, the Irons are stepping up their interest in the teen.

The report claims that West Ham and [Brentford are ‘keeping tabs’](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/in-demand-bailey-cadamarteri-speaks-about-sheffield-wednesdays-massive-task-3531801) on the Leeds-born starlet but it’s the Hammers who are ‘extremely keen’ on the deal.

Cadamarteri – who received [praise from Darren Moore](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-darren-moores-vow-as-bailey-cadamarteri-rio-shipston-co-shine-3491780) in December – was also recently [awarded](https://twitter.com/YesWeCrann/status/1484167432382169097) the League Football Education Goal of the Month.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Exciting.

Whilst many would rather see the club concentrating on the here and now in this January transfer window, links with hot prospects such as Cadamarteri remains a [key component](https://www.whufc.com/news/academy) of how the club is operating.

Described as a ‘top performer’ for Sheffield Wednesday’s Under 18s, the teen underpinned his potential with a [hat-trick](https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/19214627.former-bantam-cadamarteri-high-hopes-son-bailey/) against Ipswich Town.

Signing the youngster would be impressive business from the Irons and could stand the [first-team](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) in strong stead for the future and beyond.
