# Virals: West Ham could ‘move early’ for Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/18/virals-west-ham-among-clubs-looking-at-fenerbahce-defender-attila-szalai/) could reportedly ‘move early’ for highly-rated Fulham attacking midfielder [Fabio Carvalho](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/03/virals-west-ham-target-fabio-carvalho-set-to-leave-fulham/).

This comes as the 19-year-old is [linked with a host of clubs](https://www.teamtalk.com/fulham/fabio-carvalho-transfer-agreement-fear-liverpool-tottenham-target-exclusive) including the Hammers, Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton.

> West Ham are chasing the signature of Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho.
>
> The 19-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and the Hammers’ could look to snap him up this month for a reasonably cheap fee.

However, the Irons could look to beat the competition and make a prompt swoop for the teenager according to ExWHUemployee on the latest [West Ham Way Podcast](https://www.patreon.com/posts/twhw-podcast-new-61279066?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2Vzczo4ZTQ0MGVmMC1mNWYyLTRhMWQtOTZjNS05MzM0OGU5MDVjOGQifQ.P8l_zpfJ69-4bUuIuDtyWZbPQG_O5_TuTnXOYAYTWWc).

> Carvalho at Fulham is a guy we like. His contract expires in the summer. He’s not a priority position in January but we could move early for him.

Already a goalscorer in the Premier League, the [six-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/559263/verein_id/31269) England Under 18 international is hot property.

This season Carvalho – hailed as [‘fantastic’](https://www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/silva-hails-fantastic-carvalho-after-fulham-see-off-millwall) by Marco Silva – has [scored five times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 15 Championship appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £3.15million and out of contract at Craven Cottage in the summer ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263)), signing the Portugal-born starlet would be a wholly possible venture during this transfer window.

Albeit the [Championship table-toppers](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) look almost certain to challenge for an immediate return to the top-flight, it would appear that Carvalho’s stock could go beyond a newly-promoted outfit.

Possessing a [range of key attacking attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho) and a player packed full of potential, adding the teen to the West Ham squad this month would be a smart move from David Moyes.
