# Virals: West Ham can reach ‘agreement’ for Marseille ace Boubacar Kamara

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/18/virals-west-ham-could-move-early-for-fulham-starlet-fabio-carvalho/) have once again been linked with a move for Olympique de Marseille defensive midfielder [Boubacar Kamara](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/14/virals-west-ham-in-pole-to-sign-marseille-star-boubacar-kamara/).

The Hammers have been [credited with an interest](https://twitter.com/WHUFCFZ/status/1481766974589915146) in the 22-year-old for some time and were believed to be ‘leading the race’ as recently as last week.

Now a report from [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/belief-e6-7m-agreement-west-ham-target-can-done-january-player-strong-position/)) has claimed that the Irons could reach a deal for the Frenchman during the January transfer window.

The report claims that an ‘agreement’ between West Ham and the French Ligue 1 club would be achieved should a bid of around €6-7million (£5-6million) be forthcoming for the [nine-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/nationalmannschaft/spieler/394327/verein_id/9323) France Under 21 starlet.

This season Kamara – hailed a [‘phenomenon’](https://en.africatopsports.com/2020/05/30/marseille-rolando-praises-qualities-of-boubacar-kamara/) by Rolando – has earned an impressive [7.04 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/boubacar-kamara/826204) from 17 Ligue 1 outings.

Valued at £22.5million and out of contract in France at the end of the season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/marktwertverlauf/spieler/394327)), signing the Marseille born ace for the suggested fee would be a bargain deal even with a dwindling contract.

Whilst it may be imminently possible to bring do the deal in the summer, bringing Kamara to the London Stadium now means another [six months adaptation](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) time as well as a greater chance of winning the race.

With club legend Mark Noble set to retire and Alex Kral yet to settle in a claret and blue shirt, David Moyes needs midfield reinforcements and the Frenchman looks to be [ideally](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/331790/Show/Boubacar-Kamara) suited.
