# Virals: West Ham move for Torino striker Andrea Belotti ‘back on track’

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/13/west-ham-fans-applaud-outstanding-aaron-cresswell-display-on-social-media/) are reportedly looking to get a deal for Torino striker [Andrea Belotti](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/25/virals-journalist-updates-andrea-belotti-situation-amid-west-ham-interest/) ‘back on track’ following heightened speculation.

The 28-year-old was [heavily linked](https://www.vavel.com/en/football/2021/08/04/west-ham/1080926-reasons-why-west-ham-need-to-sign-andrea-belotti.html) with a move to the Hammers during the summer but remained as club captain in Italy instead.

Now, amidst [reports](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_/status/1481260382253633538) claiming that the frontman has rejected moves elsewhere, Irons’ insiders [Westhamfans.org](https://westhamfans.org/content/belotti-deal-back-track)have claimed that the East London club are set to reignite their pursuit.

The report claims that the [41-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/nationalmannschaft/spieler/167727/verein_id/3376) Italy star is a ‘principal striker target’ and West Ham may look to strike a pre-contract deal this month.

This season Belotti has [scored twice and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/leistungsdaten/spieler/167727) in 10 appearances across all competitions having [missed 17 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/verletzungen/spieler/167727) through injury.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £25.2million and out of contract in the summer ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/marktwertverlauf/spieler/167727)), signing the Italian for free would be excellent business despite the recent fitness issues.

Belotti has amassed [152 career goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/167727) in 377 outings and has previously enjoyed a relatively clean bill of health.

Albeit Irons’ boss, David Moyes will still require an immediate solution to the [lack of competition](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) in the striker department, lining the powerful frontman up for a summer arrival would remain a smart move.
