# Virals: West Ham ‘keeping tabs’ on Sheffield Wednesday starlet Bailey Cadamarteri

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/12/virals-west-ham-eyeing-up-move-for-eintracht-frankfurt-ace-filip-kostic/) are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on Sheffield Wednesday starlet Bailey Cadamarteri.

Son of former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri, the 16-year-old has [already made a mark](https://twitter.com/YesWeCrann/status/1480470762616201217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1480470762616201217%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-1833573146483555722.ampproject.net%2F2112231523001%2Fframe.html) at youth level with the Championship club.

Now a report from the [Sheffield Star](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/bailey-cadamarteri-latest-as-sheffield-wednesday-risk-losing-starlet-west-ham-united-and-brentford-watch-3522948), as cited by [The Star SWFC](https://twitter.com/TheStarOwls) on Twitter has claimed that the Hammers and Brentford are both attentive to the teenager.

The report states that West Ham are ‘monitoring’ the striker closely as further attention comes from [Category One](https://trainingground.guru/articles/birmingham-city-awarded-category-one-status#:~:text=The%20Category%20One%20Academies%20are,%2C%20Nottingham%20Forest%2C%20Reading%2C%20Southampton) clubs.

This season Cadamarteri [scored](https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/watch-bailey-cadamarteris-fa-youth-cup-goal-sealing-sheffield-wednesday-win-barry-bannan-reacts-3489801) in the FA Youth Cup first-round victory over Premier League 2 side [Southampton](https://www.givemesport.com/1816416-southampton-transfer-news-saints-move-for-9m-gem-makes-a-lot-of-sense).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Unsurprisingly there is little known about the teen, but given his dad’s [top-flight exploits](https://www.premierleague.com/players/1186/Danny-Cadamarteri/overview) then suitors will hope the apple hasn’t fallen too far.

Born in Leeds the ace described as a ‘top performer’ for Sheffield Wednesday’s Under 18s underpinned his potential with a [hat-trick](https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/19214627.former-bantam-cadamarteri-high-hopes-son-bailey/) against Ipswich Town.

Albeit far from signing a player ready for the senior side, the Hammers would be making further smart moves to future-proof their [ranks](https://www.whufc.com/news/academy) by signing the likes of Cadamarteri.
