# Virals: West Ham ‘eyeing up’ move for Eintracht Frankfurt ace Filip Kostic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/11/virals-west-ham-interested-in-as-monaco-star-aleksandr-golovin/) are reportedly ‘eyeing up’ a move for Eintracht Frankfurt ace Filip Kostic at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old is the [latest name linked](https://www.givemesport.com/1818072-west-ham-transfer-news-big-update-emerges-on-david-moyes-pursuit-of-63-pl-star) with a move to the Hammers as David Moyes attempts to strengthen the squad mid-season.

Albeit the [priorities](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/david-moyes-west-ham-transfer-22698264) remain a centre-back and striker, the Irons are believed to have joined Inter Milan, Arsenal, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid in the hunt for the left-winger.

That’s according to a report from Italian outlet [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/inter-kostic-pista-concreta-due-motivi-per-cui-e-piu-semplice-pr-19406), as cited by [Talkin West Ham #GSBOUT](https://twitter.com/TalkinWestHam) on Twitter.

The report claims that West Ham as well as their rivals are ‘ready for auction’ for the [43-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-kostic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/161011/verein_id/3438) Serbia international.

This season Kostic – once described as [‘outstanding’](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/how-important-is-filip-kostic-to-eintracht-frankfurt-s-champions-league-challenge-3399) by Adi Hütter – has [scored three times and provided 10 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-kostic/leistungsdaten/spieler/161011) in 22 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £18million and out of contract in 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-kostic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/161011)), it would appear to be an open race to land the Serbian.

It’s likely that the East Londoners are alreal well-versed in the [former VfB Stuttgart man’s talents](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-kostic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/161011) having watched plenty of Frankfurt when signing Sebastien Haller.

For the Hammers, this would be a strange move given the [relative strength in depth](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) on the left-wing with Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma, Arthur Masuaku and Nikola Vlasic all capable of operating there.

Although Kostic has been a [high-quality operator](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-kostic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/161011) for some time, a move for a then nearly 30-year-old, even for free, would be an odd choice from the club.
