# Virals: West Ham ‘chasing’ Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/06/virals-west-ham-loan-offer-for-gabriel-barbosa-rejected-as-absurd/) have once again been named among the clubs ‘chasing’ a deal for Nottingham Forest starlet [Brennan Johnson](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/22/virals-west-ham-joined-in-race-for-nottingham-forest-ace-brennan-johnson/).

The 20-year-old is hot property following an [impressive breakthrough 18 months](https://www.sofascore.com/player/brennan-johnson/1085180) for both club and country.

Premier League sides such as Everton, Newcastle United and Brentford are all believed to be desperate to land the [exciting](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/379688/Show/Brennan-Johnson) youngster.

That’s according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10373145/Brenford-keen-Nottingham-Forest-starlet-Brennan-Johnson.html), as cited by [Everton Talks Nsno](https://twitter.com/NsnoTalks) on Twitter, claiming that the Irons are also in the mix.

The report claims that the Hammers are ‘keeping an eye’ on the [seven-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brennan-johnson/nationalmannschaft/spieler/470607/verein_id/3864) Wales international.

So far this season Johnson – described as a [‘livewire](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steady-wales-player-ratings-stoke-21457564?_ga=2.96967255.957060705.1641461241-1537486511.1588352392)‘ by Wales Online –  has [scored five and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brennan-johnson/leistungsdaten/spieler/470607) in 25 Championship appearances.

Valued at £900,000 and under contract at the City Ground until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brennan-johnson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/470607)), Forest are already demanding bids of £14million for the youngster.

Boasting exceptional versatility and on the back of a [24 goal contribution](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brennan-johnson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/470607) campaign in League One last season, there can be little doubting Johnson’s potential.

However, without top-level exposure and in the [final 18 months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brennan-johnson/profil/spieler/470607) of a deal, West Ham would surely be reticent to spend big on the Welshman at this stage.
