# Virals: West Ham readying ‘formal offer’ for FC Basel star Arthur Cabral

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/04/virals-west-ham-have-everton-full-back-lucas-digne-under-consideration/) are reportedly preparing to make a ‘formal offer’ for FC Basel striker [Arthur Cabral](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/10/pundit-believes-arthur-cabral-move-would-be-shrewd-for-west-ham/).

The Hammers are expected to prioritise an attacking arrival in the January transfer window and have been [extensively linked](https://www.teamtalk.com/west-ham-united/arthur-cabral-leeds-target-answer-problem-david-moyes-faces) with the 23-year-old in recent weeks.

Cabral has been a revelation since arriving in Switzerland from Palmeiras and has amassed an impressive [82 direct goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-cabral/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/390638) in 106 outings for the Super League club.

According to a report from [Goal Brasil](https://www.goal.com/br/not%C3%ADcias/west-ham-promete-oferta-formal-por-arthur-cabral-nos/blt5ba619f23296e70a), as cited by [West Ham Transfers](https://twitter.com/westhamtransfer) on Twitter, the Irons are moving ahead with plans to sign the Brazilian.

The report claims that West Ham ‘will make a proposal’ for the [recently recognised Brazil ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-cabral/nationalmannschaft/spieler/390638/verein_id/3439) as Basel look for a €15million (£12.5million) fee.

This season Cabral has scored [27 times and provided eight assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-cabral/leistungsdaten/spieler/390638) in 31 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £13.5million and under contract in Switzerland until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-cabral/marktwertverlauf/spieler/390638)), signing the frontman for the suggested £12.5million fee is a no-brainer.

Described as an [‘athletic assassin’](https://footballtalentscout.net/2021/12/12/player-analysis-arthur-cabral-an-athletic-assasin-on-a-mission-by-ron-dor/) by Football Talent Scout, Cabral certainly looks to fit the bill required to lead the line for a David Moyes managed side.

Holding an impressive [availability record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-cabral/verletzungen/spieler/390638), the Brazilian is surely primed for the next step in a promising career at the Hammers should be looking to strike.
