# Virals: West Ham have Everton full-back Lucas Digne ‘under consideration’

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/03/virals-west-ham-not-ruled-out-in-rob-dickie-transfer-pursuit/) have reportedly placed out of favour Everton full-back Lucas Digne ‘under consideration’ this month.

The 28-year-old has seemingly fallen out of favour at Goodison Park following a [bust-up](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-rafa-benitez-lucas-digne-25711451) with Rafa Benitez.

That could open the door for the Hammers as David Moyes looks to offer support to Aaron Cresswell due to an [ongoing back issue](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/december/14-december/team-news-david-moyes-offers-aaron-cresswell-update).

According to a report from [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10365907/West-Ham-boss-David-Moyes-rules-moves-Gabriel-Barbosa-Wolves-winger-Adama-Traore.html), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_) on Twitter, Digne is among the leading contenders to arrive at the London Stadium.

The report claims that the [43-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-digne/nationalmannschaft/spieler/126664/verein_id/3377) France ace is on the radar along with AFC Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly.

So far this season Digne has earned a [6.92 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/lucas-digne/96538) from 13 Premier League outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £27million and under contract on Merseyside until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-digne/marktwertverlauf/spieler/126664)), signing the Frenchman would still be an expensive pursuit for any club.

Despite the apparent fallout, Everton are unlikely to sell one of their [star names](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/everton/marktwertanalyse/verein/29) to a domestic rival.

As a backup option, the [former Barcelona man](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-digne/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/126664) would stake a claim to usurp Cresswell with his experience and quality.

Perhaps the Irons would be wise to spend big elsewhere in the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) and find a younger, less expensive, alternative to Digne.
