# Virals: West Ham ‘retain an interest’ in Marseille ace Duje Caleta-Car

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/27/ian-wright-critical-of-poor-arthur-masuaku-display/) reportedly ‘retain an interest’ in Marseille defender [Duje Caleta-Car](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/08/west-ham-reportedly-set-to-reignite-duje-caleta-car-pursuit/) ahead of the January transfer window.

The Hammers are expected to seek defensive reinforcements having lost [Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10288835/West-Ham-David-Moyes-confirms-transfer-priority-new-defender-Zouma-Ogbonna-injuries.html) for prolonged spells due to injuries.

The report claims that David Moyes has been ‘forced to look at potential signings’ and could revisit the interest in the [20-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/duje-caleta-car/nationalmannschaft/spieler/238266/verein_id/3556) ace.

So far this season Caleta-Car has earned an impressive [7.17 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/duje-caleta-car/257091) from eight Ligue 1 outings.
