# Virals: West Ham ‘among admirers’ of Arsenal contract rebel Eddie Nketiah

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/23/dean-saunders-urges-west-ham-to-take-another-step-forward/) have been named ‘among the Premier League admirers’ of Arsenal striker [Eddie Nketiah](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/02/virals-west-ham-target-eddie-nketiah-reportedly-rejects-contract-offer/).

The 22-year-old has recently [rejected an offer](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10262491/Eddie-Nketiah-REJECTS-Arsenals-latest-contract-offer-despite-Mikel-Arteta-wanting-stay.html) to extend a six-year spell in North London and could leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

Crystal Palace and Brighton are also taking notice of the situation as the [16-goal England Under 21 star](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/nationalmannschaft/spieler/340324/verein_id/9565) attracts interest from Europe.

According to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10337767/Arsenal-lose-Eddie-Nketiah-MONTH-striker-looking-leave-Gunners.html), as cited by [Global Watch Football](https://twitter.com/gwf_official/status/1473983461438509062) on Twitter, Nketiah could leave as early as January amidst the contract impasse.

The report claims that the London-born starlet ‘could depart’ in the mid-season window despite a [desire](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/eddie-nketiah-arsenal-mikel-arteta-premier-league-carabao-cup-b1980450.html) from Mikel Arteta to retain his services.

So far this season Nketiah has [scored five times in seven appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/leistungsdaten/spieler/340324) across all competitions – all goals coming in the Carabao Cup following a [hat-trick](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11938/12501258/arsenal-5-1-sunderland-eddie-nketiah-scores-hat-trick-to-steer-gunners-into-carabao-cup-semi-finals) against Sunderland.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Still valued at £9million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/marktwertverlauf/spieler/340324)) in spite of a dwindling contract, the Englishman could be available for a cut-price fee next month as the Gunners look to avoid missing out on funds altogether.

Albeit far from a proven top-flight operator, Nketiah boasts an [outstanding youth record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/340324) that would suggest a striker with an eye for hitting big numbers.

David Moyes is certainly in need of [attacking reinforcements](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) and bringing the Arsenal man to the London Stadium would be an impressive capture.
