[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/22/virals-west-ham-joined-in-race-for-nottingham-forest-ace-brennan-johnson/) have reportedly got Club America ace, Pedro Aquino, ‘in their sights’ as the January transfer window approaches.

The Hammers are joined in their interest in the 26-year-old by [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) rivals Leeds United and Brentford.

That’s according to a report from [Libero](https://libero.pe/futbol-internacional/2021/12/20/pedro-aquino-juno-tenis-pero-menos-mal-eligio-carrera-deportiva-futbol-se-acerca-premier-league-noticia-34018), as cited by [https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers](https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers)[RumorsTransfersNews24/7](https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers)on Twitter.

The report claims that the English clubs will ‘seek’ to land the [34-cap Peru man](https://www.transfermarkt.com/pedro-aquino/nationalmannschaft/spieler/273638/verein_id/3584) when the transfer market opens next month.

So far this season the defensive-minded midfielder has made [14 Liga MX appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.com/pedro-aquino/leistungsdaten/spieler/273638).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £6.3million and under contract in Mexico until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/pedro-aquino/marktwertverlauf/spieler/273638)), signing Aquino would likely be an expensive mid-season venture for the Irons.

[Supremely versatile](https://www.transfermarkt.com/pedro-aquino/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/273638), the Peruvian would be a smart acquisition to bolster the options at David Moyes’ disposal.

Albeit not a [priority](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) like an additional frontman or central defender, bringing Aquino to the London Stadium would be a welcome piece of January business.
