# Virals: West Ham ‘make move’ to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/20/noel-whelan-tips-adam-hlozek-to-provide-the-answer-for-west-ham/) have reportedly made their first move to sign Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Hammers are expected to bolster the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) during the January transfer window in order to keep pace with the Premier League top four.

Despite the requirement for a central defender and a striker, Kvaratskhelia is the latest name [linked with a move](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/) to the London Stadium.

According to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-make-move-to-sign-kvaratskhelia-as-january-asking-price-revealed/), as originally cited by [From The Anvil – West Ham](https://twitter.com/FromTheAnvilWHU)on Twitter, the Irons could be about to make their swoop to land the 20-year-old.

The report claims that West Ham have ‘enquired’ about how much it may cost to sign the [12-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/khvicha-kvaratskhelia/nationalmannschaft/spieler/502670/verein_id/3669) ace.

So far this season the left-winger has [scored once and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/khvicha-kvaratskhelia/leistungsdaten/spieler/502670) in 17 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £16.2million and under contract at Kazan until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/khvicha-kvaratskhelia/marktwertverlauf/spieler/502670)), bringing Kvaratskhelia would likely take a huge chunk of the winter budget.

Albeit supremely talented and capable of playing across [various attacking positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/khvicha-kvaratskhelia/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/502670), signing the Georgian shouldn’t be high on the list of priorities at present.

Instead, David Moyes should focus on strengthening the necessary areas to maintain what has been a [strong first half](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) of the 2021/22 campaign.
