# Virals: Andriy Yarmolenko ‘on the verge’ of West Ham departure

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/06/virals-west-ham-want-real-madrid-star-eden-hazard/) forward Andriy Yarmolenko is reportedly ‘on the verge’ of leaving the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

Serie A side Genoa are believed to be in pursuit of the 32-year-old Ukrainian international as a [three-year spell in East London](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/transfers/spieler/69015) seemingly approaches the end.

Yarmolenko has been pushed into a further [bit-part role this season](https://www.sofascore.com/player/andriy-yarmolenko/41116) under David Moyes and could be looking for regular match action.

That’s according to a report from [Pianetagenoa1893](https://www.pianetagenoa1893.net/primo-piano/esclusiva-pg-il-genoa-insiste-per-zinchenko-e-yarmolenko/), as cited by [RumorsTransfersNews24/7](https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers)on Twitter.

The report claims that legendary compatriot and manager in Genoa Andriy Shevchenko wants to bring the [106-cap ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/nationalmannschaft/spieler/69015/verein_id/3699) to Italy and has held ‘positive’ talks.

So far this term Yarmolenko has [scored once and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/leistungsdaten/spieler/69015) in 15 fleeting appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Out of contract at the [end of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/profil/spieler/69015) and unlikely to be offered a new deal to stay at the London Stadium, cashing in on the [£3.6million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/marktwertverlauf/spieler/69015) ace would be a smart move from the club.

Despite boasting a [superb career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/erfolge/spieler/69015) to date, Yarmolenko is unlikely to force his way back into Moyes’ plans anytime soon.

Instead, the Irons should be looking to use any incoming funds to strengthen elsewhere in the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad).
