# Virals: West Ham ‘tracking’ FC Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/12/01/mark-lawrenson-tips-west-ham-to-overcome-brighton-hove-albion/) are reportedly ‘tracking’ FC Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind ahead of the January transfer window.

The Hammers are seemingly actively pursuing a frontman to bolster the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) and offer support to Michail Antonio.

One option would appear to be Denmark international Wind as David Moyes also considers a move for FC Basel hotshot [Arthur Cabral](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/30/virals-west-ham-hold-concrete-interest-in-arthur-cabral/).

That’s according to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/david-moyes-west-ham-january-25584492)‘s Darren Lewis claiming the Scot has earmarked two key targets.

Capped [12 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/nationalmannschaft/spieler/391004/verein_id/3436) at senior level, Wind would cost in the region of £11-15million according to various reports.

So far this season the 22-year-old has [scored 10 and provided six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/leistungsdaten/spieler/391004) in 26 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Having failed to [replace Sebastien Haller](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/08-january/sebastien-haller-joins-ajax) during the summer, signing an additional striker is a necessity in this January transfer window.

Although the Danish youngster doesn’t present the same goal threat as Cabral, Wind [possesses more versatility](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/391004) than the Brazilian and could therefore be more suited to Moyes’ squad.

Valued at £6.3million and under contract until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/marktwertverlauf/spieler/391004)), paying anywhere in the region of the mooted fee for a talented prodigy would be an excellent piece of business.
