The report claims that the [17-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.com/gabriel-barbosa/nationalmannschaft/spieler/244275/verein_id/3439) Brazil international’s stance has brought about interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United.

During the 2020/21 campaign, Barbosa – known as Gabigol – [scored 29 times and provided nine assists](https://www.transfermarkt.com/gabriel-barbosa/leistungsdaten/spieler/244275) in 41 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £22.1million and under contract in Brazil until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/gabriel-barbosa/marktwertverlauf/spieler/244275)), Flamengo will reportedly consider bids in excess of £30million for their 25-year-old.

Despite struggling to make the grade in Milan, Barbosa has amassed an impressive [129 goals in 262 professional career outings](https://www.transfermarkt.com/gabriel-barbosa/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/244275).

David Moyes is certainly in need of an additional attacking weapon to support Michail Antonio and adding the prolific star would provide a huge mid-season [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) boost.

Barbosa is the second Brazilian frontman to be linked with filling the striker void in East London after [Arthur Cabral](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/30/virals-west-ham-hold-concrete-interest-in-arthur-cabral/) was tipped to make the move this week.
