# Virals: West Ham ‘can snatch’ Jonas Wind for bargain fee in January

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/22/pundit-adamant-west-ham-would-re-sign-jesse-lingard-in-a-heartbeat/) can reportedly land FC Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind for much less than previously mooted in the January transfer window.

The Hammers were [linked](https://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/avis-west-ham-lurer-paa-jonas-wind/) with the 22-year-old Dane last winter but any move failed to materialise.

Now as Irons’ boss David Moyes [continues the search](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12181609/ajax-trying-to-sign-sebastien-haller-from-west-ham#:~:text=West%20Ham%20have%20agreed%20to,in%20the%20summer%20of%202019.) for a Sebastien Haller replacement, Wind has once again been indexed to the East Londoners.

According to a report from [Ekstra Bladet](https://ekstrabladet.dk/), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1462730516935938050) on Twitter, the Denmark international is once again under consideration.

Capped [12 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/nationalmannschaft/spieler/391004/verein_id/3436) at senior level, the report claims that bids of around £10-11million ‘will probably’ be enough to prise the powerful frontman out of Copenhagen.

So far this season Wind has [scored 10 times and registered six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/leistungsdaten/spieler/391004) in 25 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Despite continued [fine performances](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) from Moyes’ men, there can be few who would deny an extra recognised striker is needed.

Given the already [lengthy run](https://www.france24.com/en/sport/20211105-europa-league-match-update-west-ham-qualifies-for-knockout-stages) in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, the toll of this season is ultimately going to catch up on the squad – in particular Michail Antonio.

Moyes must guard against burnout in the second half of the campaign and signing Wind would give the Scot an [alternative](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/353565/Show/Jonas-Wind) option.

Valued at £6.5million and under contract until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonas-wind/marktwertverlauf/spieler/391004)), paying the mooted asking price would be an outstanding piece of business from the outset.
