# Virals: West Ham reportedly ‘set their sights’ on Hellas Verona duo

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/16/paddy-kenny-believes-david-moyes-is-set-for-extended-west-ham-stay/) are reportedly ‘keen on’ signing Hellas Verona duo [Giovanni Simeone](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/10/virals-west-ham-consider-move-for-serie-a-hotshot-giovanni-simeone/) and Antonin Barak.

The Hammers have been named alongside [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) rivals Newcastle United as the clubs interested in the pair.

Both have been [linked](https://sempreinter.com/2021/07/02/inter-ac-milan-west-ham-among-clubs-interested-in-hellas-verona-midfielder-antonio-barak-italian-media-report/) with a move to the Irons separately in the past but now it would appear David Moyes is lining up a double swoop in Italy.

That’s according to a report from [TuttoHellasVerona](https://www.tuttohellasverona.it/rassegna/l-arena-west-ham-e-newcastle-occhi-su-simeone-e-barak-45174), as cited by Newcastle centric Twitter account [The 1892](https://twitter.com/XTHE_1892X).

The report claims that both English clubs have ‘set their sights’ on Barak and Simeone – capped [27 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/antonin-barak/leistungsdaten/spieler/272261) and [five times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/giovanni-simeone/nationalmannschaft/spieler/282388/verein_id/3437) by their nations respectively.

So far this season the Argentine striker has [scored nine times and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/giovanni-simeone/leistungsdaten/spieler/282388) in 11 Serie A outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Mooted to be worth around [£31million combined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/spielervergleich/statistik/def/spieler/272261&282388), West Ham would be handing their squad a major boost with this double capture.

However, Simeone is currently only on loan at Verona from Cagliari and Barak was [signed last summer from Udinese](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/antonin-barak/transfers/spieler/272261) following a successful loan spell.

These situations would surely complicate any move for the [forward and attacking midfielder](https://formation-y.com/en/formation/verona.html) and perhaps make it more plausible for Moyes to begin to look elsewhere.
