# Jamie O’Hara doesn’t believe EPL rivals will sell Jesse Lingard to West Ham

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara doesn’t believe Manchester United would be willing to sell Jesse Lingard to [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/14/virals-west-ham-have-watched-arsenal-striker-folarin-balogun/).

The 28-year-old was [sensational for the Hammers](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) last season whilst on loan in east London and it was expected that the attacking midfielder may make a permanent switch.

That move failed to come to fruition and the ace has [found it difficult](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) to obtain regular game time at Old Trafford once again.

Despite continuous being linked with a move back to the London Stadium, OHara told [talkSPORT Breakfast](https://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1636956000/1636966800/) that there was no chance Manchester United would sell to their direct rivals.

> As if Man United are going to allow Jesse Lingard to go to West Ham – they are above them in the table. That’s not going to happen, that’s competition. There is no way they are going to allow a top player, who was brilliant for West Ham when he went there. They arent going to allow him to go on loan there this season when they are in direct competition. That’s never going to happen.

Last season the [32-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/141660/verein_id/3299) England ace [scored nine times and provided five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660/plus/0?saison=2020) in 16 Premier League outings for the Irons.

So far this term Lingard has played just [63 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660/plus/0?saison=2021) in the league for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

O’Hara is bang on here.

As much as many Hammers would love to see Lingard back in east London, given the [current levels](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) of the two clubs, there is little chance of the deal becoming a reality.

Therefore, David Moyes may need to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements and Norwich City starlet [Todd Cantwell](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/15/virals-west-ham-ready-to-target-norwich-city-star-todd-cantwell/) has already been earmarked.
