# Virals: West Ham have ‘watched’ Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/13/virals-michail-antonio-scores-superb-solo-goal-for-jamaica/) have reportedly ‘watched’ Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun recently ahead of a possible transfer swoop.

Irons’ boss David Moyes is believed to have run the rule over the 20-year-old as [new Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/07/middlesbrough-appoint-chris-wilder-new-manager) also took a closer look.

Born in New York, Balogun is a [well established](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503770/verein_id/9565) England youth international with a superb.

According to a report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-prodigy-folarin-balogun-admits-25441651), as cited by [OurMFC](https://twitter.com/OurMFC) on Twitter, the Hammers and ‘Boro are keen.

The report claims that both managers were in attendance as the ‘prodigy’ netted a [first England U21 goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503770/verein_id/9565) against the Czech Republic.

This season Balogun has [scored 10 and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/leistungsdaten/spieler/503770) in just eight Premier League 2 outings.

Meanwhile, the versatile attacker has made [two fleeting appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/503770/saison/2021/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/11) for Mikel Arteta’s side in the senior Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £3.6million and under contract at the Emirates until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/marktwertverlauf/spieler/503770)), signing the talented ace on a permanent basis could be an expensive venture.

However, with Moyes in need of an [attacking addition](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) to support Michail Antonio, shelling out for Balogun looks to be a worthwhile expenditure.

Surely in need of [regular first-team action](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/folarin-balogun/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/503770) sooner rather than later, the London Stadium could be the ideal destination for the Arsenal man to kickstart his career.
