# Tony Gale lauds one ‘phenomenal’ Pablo Fornals attribute

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/11/virals-west-ham-keen-on-championship-duo-after-angelo-ogbonna-blow/) midfielder Pablo Fornals is currently enjoying a carer purple patch for both club and country.

Signed from Villarreal in 2019 for £24million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48636017)), the 25-year-old struggled to make the immediate adaptation to life in the Premier League.

However, as David Moyes has [transformed](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-united-2021-david-moyes-declan-rice-b962404.html) the Hammers, Fornals has also undergone an upturn in fortunes.

Speaking during the [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football) coverage of Spain against Greece, former Iron, Tony Gale was full of praise for the attacking midfielder.

> I don’t think there’s a fitter man at West Ham. He’s a workaholic, his work rate is phenomenal.

Despite only appearing for a 25-minute cameo as Spain triumphed 1-0, Fornals completed two crosses, one long ball and 12 accurate passes ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/pablo-fornals/816763)).

So far this season the [six-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pablo-fornals/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357885/verein_id/3375) ace has [scored four and assisted two goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pablo-fornals/leistungsdaten/spieler/357885) in 17 appearances across all competitions for West Ham.

Fornals almost epitomises the growth at the London Stadium in the last 18 months.

Somewhat of a bit-part player prior to Moyes’ return, now Fornals is a [key part](https://theathletic.com/2182714/2020/11/06/pablo-fornals-west-ham-david-moyes/) of the Irons’ success and his work rate is a huge factor.

Spain will now face Sweden on Sunday and the [£18million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pablo-fornals/leistungsdaten/spieler/357885) ace can expect to feature once again.
