# Joe Cole showers praise on ‘unplayable’ Said Benrahma

Former [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/04/czech-expert-jiri-hosek-claims-adam-hlozek-move-is-on-the-horizon/) attacking midfielder Joe Cole was full of praise for current Irons’ playmaker [Said Benrahma](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/18/jamie-redknapp-lauds-excellent-west-ham-attacking-duo/).

The 26-year-old is truly coming of age in claret and blue this season having [struggled to adapt](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/15-december/said-benrahma-i-am-happy-way-i-am-adapting) to the Premier League last term.

Despite a late own goal from Tomas Soucek, the Hammers secured qualification from Europa League Group H with a [2-2 draw](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/november/04-november/goals-krc-genk-2-2-west-ham-united) in Belgium against Genk, Benrahma dazzled those watching on.

Speaking live on [BT Sports](https://twitter.com/btsportfootball) in the aftermath, Cole was left in awe of the Algerian attacking midfielder.

> Tonight at times he was unplayable. Fantastic, that’s how good he is, as soon as he saw the defender and squared him up, he knew he was in control of the situation. The finish was exquisite.

Benrahma produced three key passes, two tackles and two goals during a remarkable [9.50 Sofascore rated](https://www.sofascore.com/player/said-benrahma/354808) performance.

So far this season the [12 times capped](https://theathletic.co.uk/2001698/2020/08/19/lundstram-new-contract-sheffield-united/) Algerian has [scored six times and registered three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532) in 15 appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

What a season this is turning out to be for the ex-Brentford man.

David Moyes is truly getting the best out of the man who [‘could nutmeg a mermaid’](https://talksport.com/football/772451/west-ham-brentford-said-benrahma-messi-nutmeg-mermaid/#:~:text=Indeed%2C%20former%20Brentford%20captain%20Sam,Carabao%20Cup%20the%20other%20week.) according to Sam Saunders.

Boasting a rising market value of £22.5million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/marktwertverlauf/spieler/290532)), Benrahma is now a key member of the Irons’ squad moving forwards.
