# Virals: Journalist expects David Moyes to make bold selection call

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/02/noel-whelan-lauds-david-moyes-for-west-ham-transformation/) manager David Moyes currently has an abundance of selection headaches with almost the entire squad vying for a place in the Scot’s plans.

This has meant the 58-year-old has been able to suitably [rotate the ranks](https://www.skysports.com/west-ham-united-results) without damaging the quality across all competitions.

However, there is a mounting situation at right-back as Vladimir Coufal returns to full fitness and attempts to wrestle his place back from [Ben Johnson](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/01/trevor-sinclair-lauds-ben-johnson-on-social-media-following-doubts/).

The 21-year-old was [superb](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10152973/Ben-Johnsons-celebration-West-Hams-win-Aston-Villa-reference-viral-video-defender.html) in the Czech star’s absence and even opened the scoring against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ahead of a doubleheader this week with Genk and Liverpool, journalist [Tom Clark](https://twitter.com/_thomasjclark/status/1454926283897544704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1454926283897544704%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-10306104012260246100.ampproject.net%2F2110152252002%2Fframe.html) took to Twitter to predict how Moyes may see the dilemma.

> Expect Coufal to get some minutes midweek then massive call v Liverpool. Going forward will be rotating. Against Liverpool still going Johnson as he is on form / Coufal not fully fit

Johnson has earned an impressive [7.70 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ben-johnson/914412) from four Premier League outings whilst Coufal has been sidelined.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

There is no doubting this is a huge call.

Whilst the London-born youngster has been brilliant recently, coming up against [Sadio Mane and a marauding Andy Robertson](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/446026-internationals-sadio-mane-scores-and-andy-robertson-assists-twice) is almost as tough as it gets.

Coufal’s experience could yet prevail as Moyes perhaps looks to quell the [visitors to the London Stadium](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) before hurting them.

Since arriving the 29-year-old has been among the [best full-backs in the Premier League](https://www.sofascore.com/player/vladimir-coufal/138024) and could yet warrant a return for such a huge clash.
