# Pundits continue to shower praise on West Ham star Declan Rice

Football pundits around the country must be edging ever closer to running out of superlatives to describe [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/02/noel-whelan-lauds-david-moyes-for-west-ham-transformation/) star [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/11/01/virals-west-ham-star-declan-rice-posts-dressing-room-antics-following-win/).

The 22-year-old midfielder has started the new season in sensational form following a [successful Euro 2020](https://www.sofascore.com/player/declan-rice/856714) in the summer on a personal level.

So often at the forefront of David Moyes’ side, Rice is the driving force from midfield as the Hammers [take on all comers](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results).

The latest in a [long line of plaudits](https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/gary-lineker-full-of-praise-for-magnificent-declan-rice/ar-AAQb48M) to laud the London-born ace are Paul Robinson and Garth Crooks.

Robinson has told [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/pundit-makes-devastating-rice-claim-after-big-west-ham-reveal-from-moyes/) that the [27-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357662/verein_id/3299) England man is the ‘best all-round midfielder in the Premier League on current form’.

Meanwhile, Crooks described Rice as being at his ‘commanding best’ in West Ham’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday whilst writing for [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59112018).

So far this season the defensive midfielder has [scored three and assisted three other goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662) in 12 appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It’s almost impossible to disagree with Robinson’s acclaim.

Rice has been truly remarkable this term and currently ranks 10th overall among the best-rated players in the Premier League ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/tournament/football/england/premier-league/17)).

Valued at £63million and under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357662)), West Ham will be hoping to tie down their prized asset to a new deal sooner rather than later.
