# Virals: David Moyes delivers positive injury update ahead of EPL clash

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/29/trevor-sinclair-believes-jesse-lingard-could-still-return-to-west-ham/) manager David Moyes was unsurprisingly upbeat during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The Hammers make the trip to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon and could further cement a place in the [top-four](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) if results go their way.

Having rotated the side in midweek against Manchester City, Moyes [confirmed](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/october/29-october/it-happened-david-moyes-pre-aston-villa-press-conference) the travelling squad would be replenished by returning stars.

> In the main, we’re getting better. Vlad Coufal got some minutes. Ryan Fredericks is making progress. Alex Kral has returned after isolating, he’s in a better place now, so we’re in a good place. Like everyone we’ve got some knocks and niggles and things behind the scenes, but hopefully, we’ll be fine.

West Ham are [unbeaten in four games](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) across all competitions and will be hopeful of at least maintaining that record in the Midlands.

The Irons did the double over the Villans last season, beating Dean Smith’s side 2-1 at the London Stadium before a Jesse Lingard brace saw Moyes’s men run out [3-1 winners](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXD4_nkAWRE) in February.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Whilst the inclusion of Vladimir Coufal over Ben Jonson would be slightly [unfair](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ben-johnson/914412) on the 21-year-old, Moyes has to pick the best side available to him.

Despite the [contrasting form](https://www.skysports.com/aston-villa-results), Villa presents a worthy threat and the Hammers will have to be at their best to take all three points.

It could be argued the [strength in depth](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) in east London is the strongest its been in many years, underlined by the form without Coufal and Alex Kral recently.
