# Jamie O’Hara praises ‘absolutely brilliant’ Declan Rice

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has been lauding [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/25/virals-michail-antonio-celebrates-london-derby-winner-on-social-media/) star [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/25/paul-scholes-believes-declan-rice-is-becoming-the-complete-midfielder/).

The Hammers overcame Spurs this weekend thanks to a [winner from Michail Antonio](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/october/25-october/extended-highlights-west-ham-united-1-0-tottenham-hotspur) late on at the London Stadium.

Rice was once again at the forefront of the display as David Moyes’ side moved into the [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) top four.

Speaking on [talkSPORT (25/10/2021 8.40am)](https://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1635138000/1635147000/), O’Hara was full of praise for the 22-year-old.

> Declan Rice is absolutely fantastic. I love watching him play. He gets up and down, talk about high intensity – he’s up there with the best in the league. His anticipation of danger is what I love about him, he’s not like a destroyer, he can but it is not something he does. He anticipates danger on the pitch, he’s always in the right position and he doesn’t get beat one on one.

Co-host and [legendary Rangers striker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ally-mccoist/leistungsdaten/spieler/101126) Ally McCoist backed up O’Hara by insisting Rice had been ‘superb’ this season.

So far this term the midfielder has earned an impressive [7.31 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/declan-rice/856714) from nine league outings.

This is some outstanding backpedalling from O’Hara following his early-season [relegation prediction](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QEXGuuUGBU).

All jokes aside, however, Rice is enjoying a wonderful start to the 2021/22 campaign and will be hopeful of inspiring the Irons to a [continued push](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/clubs/53358--west-ham/) for elite European qualification.

Given the workload placed on the Englishman’s shoulders, it’ll be an interesting decision as to whether include the [ace against Manchester City](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) this week.
