# Virals: West Ham ‘on the trail’ to sign Juventus starlet Luca Pellegrini

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/13/fabrizio-romano-claims-declan-rice-has-always-been-on-the-list-of-rivals/) are reportedly ‘on the trail’ to sign Juventus full-back [Luca Pellegrini](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/10/virals-west-ham-make-several-enquires-to-sign-luca-pellegrini/).

This comes as Irons’ boss David Moyes continues to search for [additional left-back cover](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) to aide Aaron Cresswell.

The 22-year-old Italian was [linked with a switch](https://www.transfermarketweb.com/premier-league/premier-west-ham-to-return-for-pellegrini-222675) to the Hammers in the summer and a move could still be on the cards.

According to a fresh report from Corriere di Torino (via [Club Doria 46](https://www.clubdoria46.it/2021/10/12/calciomercato-sampdoria-nuove-conferme-su-luca-pellegrini/)), Pellegrini is now ‘very likely’ to leave Juventus in the near future.

West Ham would appear to face major competition from [Serie A](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table) side Sampdoria. With both clubs keen on a January swoop for the [one-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/nationalmannschaft/spieler/346567/verein_id/3376) Italy ace.

So far this season Pellegrini has only made [one appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/leistungsdaten/spieler/346567) across all competitions – playing 58 minutes against Napoli.

Signing the [former AS Roma man](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/transfers/spieler/346567) on loan would be the ideal solution to Moyes’ left-back dilemma.

Despite continued [stellar displays](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-cresswell/43443) from Cresswell, the Scot is desperate to find support for the 31-year-old as the busy season takes hold.

Equally as [attack-minded](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/332268/Show/Luca-Pellegrini) an operator as Cresswell, should Pellegrini adapt to England quickly, Moyes would have a natural successor in the ranks.

Valued at £8.10million and under contract at the Old Lady until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/marktwertverlauf/spieler/346567)), perhaps a loan move with an option to buy next summer would be advisable.
