# Virals: Jesse Lingard opens up on ‘crazy’ West Ham loan spell

Manchester United attacking midfielder [Jesse Lingard](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/13/pundit-believes-jesse-lingard-return-is-on-the-cards-following-update/) has opened up on his successful loan spell at [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/14/virals-west-ham-on-the-trail-to-sign-juventus-starlet-luca-pellegrini/).

The 28-year-old enjoyed a [career resurrecting](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12028/12202335/jesse-lingard-to-west-ham-can-lingard-reignite-his-man-utd-and-england-career) six-month loan spell at the London Stadium before returning to Old Trafford.

Speaking to [The Players Tribune](https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/jesse-lingard-premier-league-soccer-england-manchester-united), as cited by [Arthur #VlasicSZN](https://twitter.com/FornalsFluency)on Twitter, Lingard spoke of the comradery amongst the Irons’ squad.

Discussing the ‘crazy’ [deadline day move](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/29-january/west-ham-united-sign-england-international-jesse-lingard-loan), the Warrington-born forward praises club captain Mark Noble and his influence on the squad.

The [32-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/141660/verein_id/3299) England ace earned a place back in Gareth Southgate’s plans with a string of [superb performances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) for the Hammers.

Lingard scored [nine times and provided five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141660/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/379) in just 16 Premier League at West Ham.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

A [match made in heaven](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11096/12273193/jesse-lingard-in-scintillating-form-at-west-ham-after-loan-from-man-utd) on and off the pitch it would seem.

Lingard was a revelation in east London and a [permanent summer switch](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-jesse-lingard-man-utd-david-moyes-hope-b935221.html) seemed almost inevitable.

That move failed to materialise and David Moyes opted to [sign Nikola Vlasic](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/august/31-august/west-ham-united-sign-croatia-international-attacker-nikola) as an apparent alternative.

Amidst [reported](https://talksport.com/football/960809/west-ham-newcastle-transfers-man-utd-jesse-lingard/) interest from Newcastle United, it’s now doubtful if the [£19.80million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/marktwertverlauf/spieler/141660) man will ever be a Hammer again.
